Popular reality series in which the daily life of twelve young musical talents is followed over a period of twelve weeks.
For this programme a special music campus has been set up where the talents live and have all kinds of music workshops and singing lessons from guest teachers.
Various international artists (e.g. Lionel Richie, Ricky Martin and Sheena Easton) visit the campus and advise and train the talents.
The first single that the talents record in the STARMAKER project, Damn I think I love you, enters the Dutch national hit parade in the number one position and remains there for five weeks.
Every other week one talent has to leave the campus during the weekly live broadcast.
The viewers can take part in the vote.
In the end the seven talents that remain form the pop group K-otic.
After the programme STARMAKER the pop group K-otic remained very popular, especially with a young audience, and scored a number of big hits in the Netherlands.
